1 Vols Head Back to MCWS for Third Time in Four Years

Tennessee baseball punched its ticket to the College World Series for the third time in the past four years with a 7-4 win over LSU in the Knoxville Super Regional on Monday night.

The Vols (50-17) will face Virginia (41-16) in the CWS opener on Saturday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.

Tennessee is making its third CWS appearance under head coach Tony Vitello, who has led the Vols to unprecedented heights in recent years. The Vols won their first SEC Tournament championship in 2021 and reached the College World Series semifinals that same year.

The Vols are led by a talented group of players, including All-American outfielder Drew Gilbert and All-SEC first baseman Luc Lipcius. Gilbert is hitting .362 with 16 home runs and 56 RBIs, while Lipcius is hitting .354 with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs.

The Vols' pitching staff is also strong, led by ace pitcher Chase Dollander. Dollander is 10-0 with a 2.31 ERA this season.

The Vols will be looking to make a deep run in the CWS this year and bring home the program's first national championship.

Conclusion

The Tennessee Vols are back in the College World Series, and they're ready to make a run at the national championship. The Vols have a talented team with a lot of experience, and they're confident that they can win it all. Tennessee is one of the favorites to win the CWS this year, and they're excited to prove that they're the best team in the country.
